M6 beach mode

Ok, I've seen this on several forums.

The M-6 has a Beach Mode, which they say is Smoother Running and More Stable on saltwater beaches,than the MXT.

If this is the case, could someone explain what Whites changed to make this happen? I thought they both used the same tracking system. Monte are you out there? Rob
