M6 and prospecting?

The M6 nis essentially the same machine as the MXT. They both run on the same frequency which is high enough to be really sensitive to small gold. I have never been gold hunting, but I have found my share or small gold jewelery and rings. Hope this helps.

[size=large]in a Threshold-based All Metal mode (which the M6 doesn't have), I have used several makes and models to nugget shoot in the silent-search motion Discriminate mode IF they are capable of real 'zero' discrimination.

This includes some nugget hunting with the M6 that I have done. Now, it does mean that you're not as likely to find the tiniest of gold nuggets, but I was pleased with the performance I got.

matter of fact, I'm getting another M6 to add to my personal battery. I will tell you, however, that you will be best served with a smaller-than-stock coil. from the factory coil choices my favorite all-around coil is the 5.3 Eclipse, I also like a 5"and 6" round coil, and dandy elliptical Excelerator coils I get from Kellyco. I'll get one of these to mount up on my M6.

Since you asked about nugget hunting "now and again" I'll definitely say YES, the M6 is okay.

The M6 is NOT a prospecting machine...... it has a coin and jewelry modes
