M5 Audio Response Question

Andy Sabisch

Active member
I have question on the M5 . . . . . hope someone has some insight as it is a head scratcher

When you start up the M5 in COINS, only the negative numbers are rejected (a tad generous based on what is in the ground but it is what it is . . . ). This means that negative numbers should not produce a signal. However, I am finding that negative numbers from ferroous targets do in fact come through and repeat as well with these settings.

Has anyone seen this? Does it seem like it is responding correctly based on the DISC setting?

Thanks

Andy

With the negative numbers blanked out (rejected) and the first two positive notches rejected, iron is still giving a repatable signal - the TID is correct; i.e., shows iron, but there should be no audio for rejected targets . . . . at least that is how other Whites undts I've run have operated

The only iron response I get is from very large iron (i.e. pick head). Nails and other small iron no response. This was an air test only.

Thanks - I guess I need to give the factory a call Monday and see if they have some ideas as it wits on all of the rejected iron targets with a consistent response.

Did you ever get a reply on the tones for rejected segments? Mine is doing the same thing and I don't see a point in getting tones for rejected segments.
