M-6 On Gold

Since the M6 operates on the same freq as the MXT do you think the M6 with the DD would be a decent machine for nugget hunting?

I just ran a few air tests today for the fun of it with the M6 and the 4x6 Shooter ....1.5 Grain nugget(very small)..Sens to the max, slight background crackle in tone ID..1 to 2 inches gave a clear soft signal. foil......2.5 grain..about 2 to 3 inches same tone....13.5 grain nugget.. very strong signel out to about 6 inches, and soft tone with no VDI even further out...pull tab..I don't remember the numbers. A certin person from Alaska(Very well known) told me the M6 with the Shooter Coil makes more than a passable Nugget Sniper Outfit.

slouch when it is put up against the MXT and both are used with similar set-up. I have also compared it with several other "multi-purpose" models and it does well.

True, for a good deal of the nugget hunting people do they opt for the Prospecting mode and that gives the MXT an 'edge.' But often I didn't hunt nuggets in a conventional All Metal mode, but rather in a zero-rejection (all metal accept) motion discriminate mode.

With both the MXT & M6 in the Coin Hunting Discriminate mode, and with the highest Sensitivity allowable and absolute minimum Disc. Level setting, both of these detectors can surprise people. Matter of fact, on some smaller nugget testing, many felt the audio response in the motion Disc. mode was more perceivable than in the MXT's Prospecting mode!

I would suggest a smaller coil, such as a 5.3 Eclipse or 6" EXcelerator (if you want a round coil), or the 3x6 Eclipse DD Shooter (not my favorite) or 6x10 Eclipse DD or 4

Thanks guys thats what I needed to know as I'm thinking to get a gold machine but would still like to do coins and beaches too.
