To me, it made sense to have an MXT Forum because there was such a tremendous surge of interest with it's release, and a lot of sales and questions about a unit that is truly a multi-purpose detector by design.
The M6 is basically a simplified Coin Hunter's version of the MXT, lacking a Threshold audio (set by the factory at just a titch below the threshold point), no multi-mode operation, no ground phase reading and a few other little circuitry variances. It was housed in the good ol' Classic ID/IDX Pro type configuration but with the wide-body Quantum/MXT display housing.
The M6 is really a good consideration for those wanting an easy-to use coin hunting tool with an ample amount of audio and visual performance afield. Like the MXT it isn't as quiet in the dense iron trash like the excellent Classic series was/
is , but it hasn't been as noisy as the MXT, at least from my few experiences with it.
The M6 will NOT replace my Classic III SL (dedicated 4") or my IDX Pro (assigned the 6
