There seems to be a problem for the users here
There is no problem. Most guys have an MXT, hence the name of the forum. I tried to answer each of your questions. Maybe you would do better on the main Whites forum.
All I want to know is what I could expect for depth with the M6 in old coin hunting.
I hunt old coins and some relics and do not need all the programmability of the DFX or XLT.
In your other post ;
Hi Guys, I'm new to the Whites line of detectors and have a couple questions please.
I answered;
The M6 shines, my latest 2 deep finds (merc and a walker) were in a patch of land that had just been hunted by a Minelab SE, the ML missed them, the M6 did not, both were at around 9 inches in compacted earth and the M6 target ID was spot on both times,
It does a darn good job of finding relics as well, just go zero discr and you will pull bullets at 9 inches,
Have found several silver coins in areas of the park that is trashed with pulltabs, fence clippings etc...I get an average depth of about 7 on the 5.3 coil.
I went back 7 pages and most M6 posts were beach and school hunting. Does anyone out there use the M6 for old home sites and old coin hunting in general??
I answered, ...performs like a dream, on inland farms,fields,parks etc
If you want to get in touch with the guy whose review I quoted, send me a PM. I also know he hunts the woods a lot also. Also as Larry said your ground makes a difference. Guys on the east coast do well in the wet sand with the M6 and MXT, on the west coast beaches they do not. I don't get the claimed depths that guys are claiming with their M6 and MXT where I live. Good luck. Rob
