Went for luch and it was just too pretty outside not to do a little detecting. Headed to old part of town and and started detecting the junior high football field and found a little clad. I was headed back to vehicle when I spotted an old dirt lot that people had been parking in. You could tell there was an old foundation off to one side so I tried it out. Did not make it 10 feet into the lot when the detector blasted my ears. I thought it was going to blow my eardrums out. About 4 inches down was a 1940 Washington quarter. I have dug lots of clad alot deeper than that quarter but never has it been that loud before. I guess you really can tell the difference between clad and silver soundwise. I am going to head back there and see what else I can find this weekend. 1 clad quarter, 1 silver quarter and 2 dimes--- not too bad for a 15 minute hunt. Made my day!!!

Thats one way to make the lunch profitable... wtg :detecting:

Great finds. Silver coins sound better when they jingle together also.
