Found this 6 pounder and other artifacts on Roanoke Island, NC during my lunch hour.

Great finds! When I lived down there we use to dive between Manteo and the main land (south of Umbstead Bridge)for cannon balls. Lots of fun...

I've heard you cant hunt the beaches controled by the National Park Service. Is this true? I'd love to hit Pea Island after a Nor Easter.

The beaches south of Oregon Inlet including Pea Island are Park Service Property. They don't allow detecting there. Anything from Nags Head town line and North you can detect

I haven't found much else on the island.

Cool deal !! That's not bad for a lunch hour break.
You the same fellow I saw on Tuesday that hunted with Danny and me ??? If so, you sure got the laugh on me with that aluminum. I've come real close to flinging it out in the yard and stomping it !!!! I've never seen aluminum so tough. It will make an indestructable scoop if I can ever get it bent right.

Hey Guy,
Yes I am that person that didn't find anything on the beach.
Roger

Look for me tomorrow if you're out, I may drive over and hunt a while. May start at Jennettes and go north. Give me a call on my cell 252-802-0616. It's my "hunting phone". Only use it to keep up with the Pirates...the rest of the time it's off, in the glove box.
