lucky quarter

I was finally able to take my 2 small dogs for a walk last Friday and on the way back I found a quarter laying in the road. They have been hauling dirt out of this field and it was dated 1986, but you could tell it had been underground at some time because it was black. It looked like a token and I almost did not stop and pick it up. Saturday, I got out in the yard and found three pennys and a lot of 22 caliber casings. This is the first time I was able to metal detect in some while and this is not a lot of money or anything, but it sure boosted my spirits. Anytime spent dirt fishing is time well spent in my opinion. If my current research pays off and I can get permission to search these old Indian camps about 30 miles from here, I may finally be able to post something worth posting. The show on National Geographic about the lost gold of the dark ages was really something. I don't know if my heart could stand a find like that, but what a way to go if it didn't. lol

Just make sure you dig anything that's close to a good signal since most objects from that time would be pretty deep.
