Lucked Up On Some Old Lead Today

Sooper Dave

Well-known member
It was sunny and around 50 today and I was given some time off for good behavior. My daughter went along with me to find a new place to go. We went into a small town where we live that has a few old homes and churches. We stopped at an old church and got permission to detect... but as I was getting my stuff out of the truck we were told we could only look around the parking lot across the street but not around the church  So I thought I would look around for just a little bit and move on. The parking lot is huge but has a border of grass all the way around that is about 25' wide. We started finding some normal clad then a few Wheats, I got a deep signal that I thought could be an Indian but turned out to be a 3 ringer down about 8", then found two more in about a 6' area. This area had a lot of action during the war. I also found what I think is a lead hem weight??? We had a good time before going to a Christmas party. HH David.

I went back to the same place this evening with a new coil I got for Christmas from my wife :cheekkiss:, and found another 3 ringer and a very crusty 1897 Indian.

Those are some really great finds Dave! Thanks for the awesome pictures.
