LTD at the DIV

I had the opportunity to give a little class on the F75 before the meeting of the DIV. There were several folks who attended and I ran into a few of them during the hunt and they were doing pretty good. I hope I helped some folks out. I saw Bill Ladd a few times during the hunt and I didn't give a dirty look either. Heheh. It was nice to meet you Bill and I'm glad we brought you a little luck. (I ran into Bill in the woods on Day 1 and my wife and I talked for a couple minutes with him. When we left him, he dug a finial right where we were standing LOL). The funny part about this story is that later one, Bill was taking a break on a big rock next to one of the parking areas. That's where he told us about the finial. Well I told him he needed to come down and detect the spot I was standing that there might be something there. Little did I know....I came back there an hour or so later and dug TWO eagle buttons right there where I'd been standing. Go figure that!

Anyway, here's what you guys clicked on this thread for. The report on the LTD at DIV. The dirt up there was a little bit hotter than what I anticipated. The site we hunted in March of this year, had very similar dirt to what I have down here. The dirt up at Brandy is a little hotter. It still read the same on the FE meter and such but it required continuous GBing. It gave the LTD so much trouble that we ended up parking it in the truck bed and sharing my TDI. For you guys in bad dirt, I really don't think the LTD is going to be best suited for you. The only way I could get it somewhat stable was to hunt in normal modes, with sens at about 50. And even then, it was erratic and would give false ghost signals.

I'm interested in hearing how others fared with their LTDs vs the normal F-75s and such up there.

Daniel, what was the FeO reading there and what is your ground at home read? I have run into some ground that read .3 around in my area and also a place I could not GB. By the way, I have had great results hunting in all metal like you do in the videos. The boost mode helps, but I have to turn the sens down some to work it.

What was bill hunting with? If you tried AM you may have had way better luck

That's a great story about finding 2 buttons right in front of the rock where you were standing. I was too busy socializing :)
I talked to a couple people I saw with LTD's & it seemed like they acted alot like the old F75's in that dirt....
if you dug the 12's, 13-14 range on all metal it seemed to work for some folks.....
Mine never left the bag. I used the Infinium & the 1270 as I knew from 2 past hunts on that farm what to expect...
HH,
Bill
