lower shaft coil connector issue

Active member
I have an Excalibur II that has only been in the water twice, and has "bumped" nothing during those hunts. But now the lower shaft assembly that the coil attaches to has come loose and is spinning freely in the lower shaft. I can find no cross pin that would hold it in place, and so I assume it was just glued in the bottom of the shaft. Anyone have this issue? Is fixing it as simple as using a good marine epoxy to glue the lower coil holder assembly back in place? Any tips or advice will be welcome!

I had the exact same thing happen to my sov gt when it was new about 5 years ago... I used sub floor adhesive just because that's what I had ... i drilled a few tiny holes thru the shaft after i glued it and set toothpics thru the holes to keep it true with the shaft until it dried..... haven't had any problem with it since....
