I was thinking of buying a lower Rod for my 705 Xterra. Looked at the price $42.00 wow ! I thought at one time someone used another lower rod and it worked perfect
Does anyone have that information. Your help would be appreciated.

Does anyone have one for sale ?

I found that the lower rods for the Teknetics series works on some of the coils like the smaller 6" coils. You have to use a little fatter washer, easy to get those at home depot or similar. The larger coils have a little more gap between the coil ears and since they aren't centered its tough to keep them in place.
I was really hoping to find the plastic ones for replacement like from a Tesoro but the Teknetics one works good and its lighter as well, plus only about $12. Lighter is always better especially at the end of the rod.
The stock miinelab rods are a nice product but I agree $42 is really steep for a lower rod.

Thanks Neil I'm in no rush. Maybe I can find one that someone wants to sell or I'll buy one at a later date. After the elections:yikes:

Works great with 9 inch concentric and the 15 inch Minelab X-terra coils. When you order the Teknetics/Fisher lower rod, make sure you get the Fisher washers for a better fit. The tall man 26.5 inch rod is the same price and fits well on the 2 coils mentioned. Make sure you get the Teknetics/Fisher washers.
