Low battery question on the Ace 250

Well here is another really dumb question for ya...I have yet to replace the batteries in my 250 as I still have three bars of power on my indicator, BUT
when I do get down to the really weak battery stage will the unit give me a warning chirp like a cell phone? Will my search depth go shallower and shallower? Will my unit just light up and do nothing ?
Spare batteries in my hunting pouch but just not sure how to tell when I will absolutely need them.
Any help out there???

If you let the batteries get too low you will get 10 beeps. That's enough time to lay the detector down and run because it will explode!
I change the batteries when it hits 2 bars. I really don't know if it will explode if the batteries get any lower?

When you get to one bar change the batteries. If you run it down close to zero the detector will become erratic.

I do the same, well except for the running part  I just save the old batteries for other uses, small maglight, TV remote, etc. Something I don't "depend" on like the MD.

Are you trying to start up some new myths? It's just as well that you don't use them on a mine field cause the operator want know which devise will blow up in his face.:starwars::surrender::rofl:

Can one shove them down the barrel of a muzzle loader black powder rifle and launch them toward the truck bed, hoping it lands in the bed, so they can haul them home for proper disposal? Now what did I do with those D cells that wouldn't fit in my ACE?
so they can haul them home for proper disposal?
I just bury them in the back yard. Makes good fertilizer.

My experience has been that when I got too low, the VID went crazy bounching
all over the place. I replaced the batteries and PRESTO! Everything was fine.

No really! We have some burnt patches here in Indiana where some guys
let the Batteries run too low. The Ace just went up in a mini mushroon cloud!
Nothing left of the MDer!. Some burnt up cows though!:nopity:

I always replace batteries when two bars are consistantly indicated. I tried to go lower and found that performance suffered including depth and visual id.

Also residing in Indiana, I can vouch for this phenomenon RR speaks of. However, if the detectorist is quick enough to avoid becoming part of said "mushroom cloud"..... they'll find themselves in for a midwestern treat........beef BBQ :clapping:

Or you can wrap them up nicely and bury
them for the next metal detect........Oh forget it. I'm just
being bad!
