:beers:Hi All
I had the recent good fortune to meet a few new Friends and one of them was a detector!I was out in Nevada on a recent trip hangin Gerry and some buddies shown below,It was our third day of roamin some backcountry and my buddy Mark said give the GB2 a try.I understood how to use it but had never tried one so why not.We hit this spot with about 2 hrs. of time to hunt and I was the only one not swingin a big minelab and feeling kinda inferior.Well,I hit a wash and put this machine to a first test.I was keeeping the coil under the sagebrush where ya can`t get those big coils...10 minutes later a good signal..a good id..and HELLO BEAUTIFUL LITTLE NUGGY!:clapping:about .6 grams at 3 inches.
I now see why most nugget hunters always carry one of these little gems.WE called it quitin time and whatta ya know! The GB2 scored the only nugget!
I could not believe the sensitivity.
Would`nt it be awwsome if you could flip a switch on your big GP and have a GB2 to ID that target with!:crylol:

Marc,

Gerry called it "watch the gb-2 find the only nugget today"
He was right.
You were smart by sticking your little coil under the brush.
You just know there's still a fortune laying out there under the sagebrush.
Nice photos'

I have found more gold (over 70 oz)with my GBII than any other detector. If I use another brand, I always have my GBII with me.:detecting:

Steve,
Do you hunt here in idaho with you gold-bug?
Or have you made most of you finds in other states?
Did you buy your detector and were you trained by Gerry's Detectors of Boise?
I was and I agree with you the the gb-2 is the best all around machine on the market.
Although you have me way beat I think I have only found 6-7 ounces with the gb-2. Mostly nevada. Some oregon.

I am self taught with the GBII. I live in N.Idaho and have found some large gold here. I hunt in Idaho, Alaska, Montana, Nevada and Arizona. I am going back to Ganes cr with Gerry in June. I just got a Minelab X-terra 70 and I think that it will be my main gold detector. I will still keep my GB II for very small gold and a backup .
