Love my MXT

I have been reading this forum for some time now and only posted on it once, back in April when I was looking for suggestions on a new detector. I chose the MXT and it has been great. I have found a couple of mercs and silver rosies, Buffalo Nickels, tokens, toys, pieces of jewelry and about a dozen gold rings (none of any real value but gold rings non the less)and lots of clad. One thing I really like about the machine is it is easy to use. My nickel count went from almost none to, I just rolled up my third roll since April. I have been hunting some older parks in my area (Wisconsin)and have been finding lots of wheaties including a 1909, but silver is eluding me here. I know its there. I need some suggestions or words of encouragement. A quick story. I was hunting a local park and had found a token from the Palmolive Soap Company dating back from the 20's, a Dick Tracy cap gun, a few wheats and some clad. I came across a large signal that vdi around 40 (pull tab.) The target was shallow. Having dug up a few pieces of galvanized pipe already that day I almost passed on it. Then I decided to dig anyway. Did I find the cache, the mother load of all mother loads. There they were bright and shiny and gleaming just waiting for the pickens. They filled my pouch twice. A big pile of pull tabs hundreds of them. I am ready for some silver. The finds may not always be great but its is fun non-the less. Oh did I mention that I love my MXT. Happy Hunting

Glad your like the MXT. I think there is nothing
better on the market. I use the 6 X 10 coil almost
exclusively, good seperation and ground coverage.
If your hunting older houses, use the small mini-shooter, run the sensitivity as high as possible,
the disc. at least at 3. Go slow and any deep
signals that has an iron-shrill noise and the
id jumps between ferrous and non-ferrous, DIG IT!!!
The mineralization around here(60) allows me to
run the sensitivity wide open. Running it on the
preset causes me to miss some targets. Audio is
enhanced, the higher the sens. is over the preset.
If your finding wheats, the silver will come.
BTW, I never use any mode but the relic mode. Best for
coins IMHO. Best to you, Richardntn

Wolfman, had my MXT 5 weeks now and have found over 1000 coins and no silver, wheaties or gold. I've found a lot of "quantity" but I have also had a lot of good experience learning my detector. Your right thought it's nice to find the good stuff! Ron

Mr. Wolf the pull tabs you find can turn into something good for someone. The club which I am a member of here in Columbia SC is thinking of taking evryones pulltabs and junk brass and selling at the local recycler and donating the money to a charity such as a food bank, car seats for children, RonaldMc house etc. In addition to the satisfaction of helping someone ; you also "up the image" of our beloved hobbie. Just food for thaught. HH . By the way I love my MXT also!
