Love my MXT

Hi Everybody
This is my first posting on this forum, I have been reading it for about six months. I received my Mxt about two weeks ago and I love it. I spent a four days waiting for it to arrive, and read everything that I could pull up on the internet while I was waiting, I have found this fourm very helpfull.
After spending some time learning how to operate my new toy, I decided to take it to an old rail road depot site this past weekend and try my luck. I have taken other detectors to this site in the past but always left empty handed because of high amounts of iron and trash, so I thought this would be a great test. This is one of those sites that just frustrate the heck out of me, but for reasons that I can not explain, I keep going back.
With in the first 45 minuets I found four coins, two tokens, a bullet, one silver chain, and one weird looking orniment. I had to slow down and take my time, but I did not dig one piece of iron. This is by far the best machine that I have owned.

Tom, send me e-mail. tsawyer25@earthlink.net

Hi Tom/cocoa
Thanks for the infor on the specials, I have learned alot from reading this forum. There is a wealth of information posted here that can shorten the learning curve. I have read the owners guide at least three times, used the MXT at different levels of minerialized sites and studided this forum for tips.
The one area that I am some what confused on is gain. Maybe someone out in webland can help me, does the ground reading have a direct effect on the amount of gain that you can run. In other words if you have a lower ground reading of 30 does that mean that you should increase gain, and lower SAT, and does a higher ground reading of 75 mean lower gain and increase SAT. I am sure that I have looked at the answer many times, but for some reason these two knobs in the prospect mode have me scratching my head.

Tom, The MXT is tatally new to me too. It's different from anything I have ever used. Most of my machines are turn on and go pretty much. This is really complicated to me. I don't seem to have much luck in the wet sand. I know it's probably me but I have to keep the gain down so much to get it to run smooth. Then I get a lot of false signals. It has to be me. I haven't had chance to use the MXT but about 30 minutes.
HH TOM

Any mxt pros out there that can answer a newbie question on the relationship between gain and VSAT.
