Love my DX-1!

I finally went out and got the DX-1 probe (gift from my daddy), and absolutely love it. It definitely has an edge over the Garett pro pointer IMO. For those that are on the fence when deciding to get one or not, I highly suggest getting one.

You can't beat em . . .congrats.

 You made the best choice in my opinion. HH, Nancy

DX-1 on my MXT is the best pinpointer I've ever used. The one advantage I can see with the Garret or other hand helds is they are usable from one detector to another if you have multiple machines. However, the DX-1 definitely has the edge in performance.

[size=large]i got one on my used MXT PRO. was going to sell it to ofset the cost of the machine. was sorta talked into trying it out. got converted. glad i kept it. still have the garrett for my XLT but will replace that with a Sun Ray probe for the XLT when i can. by shortening the shaft to its proper length the weight is less of a problem. i had mine exstended too far.

Very good point widebody. Weight is always a concern. Even though the DX-1 is worth it regardless IMHO, the additional weight CAN be offset by having your machine set up optimally. I did the same exact thing you did . . .

Just got my DX-1 late last month and I love it too! I had lost my Garrett and was concerned about the additional weight because of an injured arm but I really haven't noticed any difference in weight. I already had my rod shortened somewhat and mounted the Sunray that way. Only problem I'm having is breaking the habit of placing my MXT Pro so far away from my target so it wouldn't interfer with the Garrett Propointer so bad! HH

I like being able to keep my headphones on while retrieving a target. I still find myself trying to remove my headphones so i can hear the garrett pro pointer out of habit. Oh and I can actually hear the probe because I don't have to tape over a speaker hole so the mud doesn't clog it up!

BTW I recently changed to a DX-1 w/the shorter 6" probe and the weight difference between it and the old, longer probe is definitely noticeable IMHO. A great upgrade improvement by SunRay and a must for anyone subject to shoulder, arm issues like myself.

I'm glad you like it. I love mine too. HH, Nancy
