Tom, This is one of the best lenses that Nikon has ever made, of course excluding primes....I would love to have one but the cost won't allow me...Too, your 50-500 has some good glass in it too..That is an excellent lens ... Did ya hear Nikon recently introduced a 105 2.8 Macro VR? So many toys, so little money, best to you, Richardntn

Thank's Richard. I heard about the new lens and I really miss the macro I had with the Sigma 70-300 . I'm not sure what the new Macro VR will cost but I'm thinking around 1,000. I'm saving just in case.
