I found my 12th ring in the last 11 days. The thing that surprised me about today is that it was a very short hunt with only 8 targets. Out of the 8 at least 2 of them were Gold and ice. The love pendant I'm doubting. It didn't have any markings (I need a diamond tester).

The other 5 targets were coins. No PULL-TABS, etc. I've never had that happen before.

The first target was the small child's gold ring with a diamond. The last two targets were the 10K mens ring (with diamonds) and the Love Pendant.

The pendant was shaped in such a way that it kept flowing through the holes in my scoop. I knew what it was as I caught a glimpse of it a time or two. Finally I kept scooping it towards the bank until it was shallow enough I could get it with my hands. By then people were showing up and it was time to go. I was there maybe 30-40 minutes.

Here are the pics:

This is the site about 40-50 yards wide and 25-30 yards deep

Alton this is gittin' to be a good habit with you man! Real nice tickets. Looks like you may have that hole all to yourself, if you are pulling pieces like that outa' there. Need any help? I might could oblige ya! Better grid the area and cover every square inch of it. You surely have missed some. Keep us posted and OBTW! Cut a circle of chiken wire or fine galvanized wire and zip tie it into the bottom of the scoop. Works for me. Nothing falls through the bottom, but sand. Even catches 22 shells and split shot. Those small targets will cost you a great deal of time otherwise. Keep 'em coming, big daddy!

He had already covered the area I found everything in. He is still speaking to me - barely! He even tried to help me scoop up the pendant.

He left saying he was sending both of his detectors back to the factory.

I think what is happening is that I am covering the ground better. He comments that I'm too methodical. But I don't have but a month or so experience with the Excal and even less in the water, so I have to rely on fundamentals. I know these results may slow down one day, but I'm grateful for what is happening now.

Another thing that is probably adding to my success is that the swimming area is small and I don't have to look at a huge beach. The targets are concentrated and I know where they are. For whatever reason, it works for me!

And yeah, you can hunt with me whenever you want. I would be the one learning something!

Well alton, with regard to the Excal, too slow and methodical, will get you the bar! Low, slow and methodical, is good medicine for this unit, from all I can see, and thanks for the invitation sir! You would probably fall asleep watching me, as I do not go very fast. It works!
