lots of quarters not much else

well I found 23 quarters....ignored a lot of penny signals and topped $500 in clad and got my 1000th quarter for year. Also a knight...think he is a chess piece.

Hey Greg congrats that is a bunch of quarters! I do have a question for youthough. You say you ignored penny digs. I guess you know the DFX very well. I am wondering does the DFX tell you it is a quarter? I guess I am wanting to know if you base this on the ID # or a readout, or even your experience?

Pennies usually come in from mid 50's to 78...quarters 83-88...yes extremely easy to tell the difference...

usually I run with a modified coin program and end up playing around with controls. When I am by buildings, fences, wires...I have to run my ac sens low...61-65....with pag at 2-3. When I am in a relatively trash free suburban park as I was yesterday I run the c/j program and make a few minor adjustments pushing pag to the max (4 on dfx) as long as there is an even smooth threshold...then the quarters really seem to scream out on the detector.

a rock tumbler....maybe a sunray probe...maybe a smaller pinpointer...mine is 18-19 inches long>automax v4....very annoying...

[size=large]A rock tumbler would be a great asset to your hobby. Look on the net for a good one at a good price. Larry's got a good one and he could help you out. The DX-1 is the best in my opinion for a pinpointer. Maybe buy something for your wife for all the times you were out hunting .......hint hint hint. [/size]
