Took out both the AT MAX (9" x 12" Coil) and AT Gold (5" x 8" Coil) detecting today. The first 3 hours were in an old part of Edmonton. I discovered this large boulder many years ago, and the whole area is covered with mini balls, musket balls and head-stamps from various typed of bullets. It looks like they set up targets on the boulder, and practiced shooting. The ones that missed and hit the rock kind of flattened, as should above. They averaged a VDI number of about 60 in Disc. 1. The coins and ring were found with the AT MAX. The ring VDI bounced around 65 - 85. It was down about 9 inches. Perfect weather too! A little cool, and no bugs.

John,
My belly tells me that is a container.
I think there is a note inside.
Look at the ends,.... one is secure, the other looks like it slips out.
Don't tear it up with pliers, but see if that one end will budge.
If you know a jeweler or a machinist let them give that item a look.
I think that thing is hollow, and there is something inside it.
