Lots of clad and some silver and one lonely wheat!

Well I finally got some decent finds at a school yard (tot lot) and found my first wheat penny, a 1944 from Philly. I went to this lot on a weekday after work, just to see what I could find and after an hour and a half my back was killing me. Got home and whoa, a wheat hidden in among the clad pennies, and had a decent amount of silver and mostly clad, but a good day of hunting none the less. So today I figure I'd just go back and finish up and after having a nice conversation with the principal went to work and wow! Found about twice or more of the same, except no Wheaties. I wish I could find as much on all the school lots as this one, will be getting that new detector real soon. I promised myself that I would not spend any more money on detectors so this is my way of getting it done for free! Well except for the gas that is.

Mike,

Way to go on all that clad!! Looks over $20 worth, awesome!! I think I found close to $3 one day and I thought that was a lot. Keep it up!!

Thanks, I appreciate the comeback. I really like my 505 it sure can find the coins.

Mike

Looks like you might have found a virgin site! Now that you've cleared out the clad go back and work it slow to see if there is any silver. Good Luck!

Don't think I'll find any old silver, the earliest coin I have found there is a 1944 Wheatie, after 3 hours of bending over, I'll give it a rest for a while, I mean the back not the site. After all I have only scanned three tot lots out of 106 possible school lots. I really don't think I will be as productive as that one site, in fact that is the most coins I have found anywhere. But hey, you never know whats under ground till you look.
