Lots more AT Pro Info

I just added 7 new pages of AT Pro info to my website thanks to Garrett that I thought I would share with you. I also want to thank everyone that emailed, PM, and called me yesterday about pre-ordering the new AT Pro. I learned yesterday that the second batch of the new Ace 350s are still back ordered at Garrett. I still have one 350 left in stock that is not spoken for yet.

Indian Nations Detectors

My question will 15 khz be suitable for coins ?? Will that frequency effect the depth on deep silver. I always thought lower frequencies were better for deep silver coins. .. I know it will work well on beaches and in the water.. Your opinion Sir !! ??

Yep.. To me, the Ace 350 is sort of a glorified 250.. But the AT Pro seems like a fairly
new design, even if some of the looks and features remind one of an ace machine.
The release of the 350 fairly much had me yawning... But I find the AT Pro to be pretty
interesting, and it looks like it could end up being a bang up mid range machine.
I still won't be in a hurry to upgrade, but if I were, I'd be much more likely to spring
for the AT Pro than I would the Ace 350.

My tesoro Vaquero would disagree with ya there :) 15khz hits silver coins deeper than most would like to. Its a great frequency for silver and small gold chains..... and obviously rocks on rings.

Paraphrasing what I read by Dave Johnson at FT, with newer technology frequency is not a big factor anymore in what a detector finds or doesn't. That being said, what I've always heard is that a lower frequency is better for silver and a higher frequency is better for nickels and other lower conductivity targets.

The GT line is 20th century technology and long overdue for updating, with this detector it appears that Garrett is catching up to the competition with a vengeance.

I am just saying testing done in real conditions. The higher frequency helps on smaller gold chains and nuggets no doubt. I have seen no difference in depth for silver. But I do see a difference in gold.

I think that the 15 khz frequency will be a very good all around frequency to run on. Lots of the very successful newer detectors run around that 13 khz to 17 khz area. The T2 and F75 uses 13 khz, the Tejon I believe uses 17 Khz, and lots of the Whites detectors run on the 15 khz frequency. As far as coins, a friend of mine in Missouri, Kenny who is a Whites Dealer swears that his best and favorite coin detector is the Whites M6 which runs on 15 khz. The 18.75 khz frequency on the X-Terras are used for nugget hunting which gets really good depth on small targets.

The Nautilus detector is used mostly for relic hunting. They are claimed great depth. They run at 14kHz. The Tesoro Tejon runs at 17.4 kHz is also known to be deep on coins and relics. Most Whites have moved up to the 14.7 kHz range for their pro coin machines. The other Tesoro line runs around 12 kHz. So the Garrett AT Pro running at 15 kHz is really running at what seems to be the normal coin and relic frequency. I personally have ran higher frequency machines from 14.7 to 18.75 kHz with no loss of any depth or sensitivity to silver. I will not hesitate to swing an AT Pro. In fact I can't wait!

I agree, it is a different detector. When I first read about it I was impressed and it has really peaked my interest! It is good to see someone putting out something new. Do you think this might be Garrett's counterpart to the X-Terra 705?
