Went out today to try my AT Pro,only one prob.Forgot my pro pointer, thought someone had chopped my arm off.

Last summer went on a short hunt not too far from home, so I didn't take my gear bag. 10 minutes in and my battery died in my ProPointer. Had to run home for a battery, couldn't take hunting without it.

Its called not being prepared. Ive done it once I think, shoot out the door with the excitement of metal detecting and forgot my propointer. Then drive back home in slow traffick jams to get it. It is amazing to me , the amount of people that use a Garrett propointer. The propointer is so common with other brands of detectorist:thumbup:

I forgot my Pro-pointer ONE time...and never did it again. Now I have it fastened to the upper shaft of my Ace 250, just below the control housing.

I also forgot the Propointer once last year. Rather than make a return trip home to pick it up, I decided to hunt without it like I used to before I got the Propointer. As it turned out I still did very well in coin shooting that day. Just required more concentration on pinpointing. The Propointer is so effective that it tends to make one lazy in pinpointing.

Jerry, I did rather enjoy swinging handfuls of dirt in front of the coil. It requires a bit of extra work but I got to see how the ol' times used to do it...lol !

Here is an idea that may be useful to you new guys who leave home without your pro-pointer. My pro-pointer holster and retractable key holder is always on my belt that holds my pouch and digger. I never leave home without it and therefore I never forget my pro-pointer. Before I started using this set up I had left my pro-pointer on the ground after digging a target and had to go back and find it. If you're out in the woods it might not be that easy to find your last dig site. I spent a half hour looking for mine one time. It's not something you want to lose.
