Lost gold coins

First post at this site and I need a little help.

About 10 years ago I hid a few K-Rands somewhere in my house, I think in the basement. Now that gold has become valuable again I would like to find them. I own an Ace 250 and would like some help in the set-up. I have lots of copper pipes and other assorted stuff that is normally found in homes.

I'm not a treasure hunter but only purchased the detector for this specific reason so I'm not sure what to set the controls at.

Any setting will signal on gold but I would use all metal just to be safe, but it will also signal on any other metal present. To bad you didn't get the sniper coil as it would improve your chances and allow you to get closer to other metal. Do you know if you buried them or just stashed them.

My buddy hid a bunch of gold coins somewhere in his house then passed away a few years ago and his poor wife has been looking for them ever since. Hope you find them.

Thanks for the reply. I think that I just stashed them in the insulation under the floor. Ok, I'll try all metal and I should probably turn the sensitivity all the way down to filter out all the pipes and wiring. Should I leave it at the factory setting for all metal?

Thanks again.

I just checked that and you are, of course, correct. This seems to be a good place for me to give this a try. I turned down the sensitivity to the lowest mark and I'll give the basement a good going over this w/e.

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

Yeah if you hid it in the insulation it should be easy to find unless you stuck it behind metal of any kind. You're like my deceased buddy. He hid his stuff all over the basement. Hope you locate it.
