Lost & found Merc - remember this solution

I dug a Merc & shortly after had to go home. I was looking at the Merc in my truck & laid it on top of the console till I got home. As I got out of the truck I didn't see the coin at all. I spent 15 minutes looking for it in & around the console. Just not there to see so I decided to go back to the detected site and retrace the trip. I put another dime on the same spot and took off, following the exact route home and at similar speed all the while glancing at the coin.

As I made a certain right turn the dime slipped off and went down between the console and the seat. I pulled over and looked and there was my Merc plus the dime. It was just hard to see it. Maybe keep this tip in mind if anything gets lost in your vehicle.

That is a good idea. I would have never thought to do that.

I see several guys that lay coins in these areas. I always keep them in my pouch till I get home. All silver coins are put in a pill bottle with cotton balls when I find them so they don't get scratched up in the pouch. Copper and other keepers go in another container. All clad is in the bottom of one pocket on my pouch.
