losing threshold & targets

Hello all, I'm having trouble figuring out this Explorer when I'm in a trashy area I lose my threshold & the x-hairs move around to where I lose the target.this happens even when its in fast mode& I'm moving the coil at a crawl, Can anyone give me some tips on this problem I'm having!!! GeorgiaAU

Don't know exactly what you are saying. But I have had trouble too. I adjusted my sens into single digits and it helped me a lot to get use to the machine. If the threshold is gone a lot then you are on top of metal.

If you are using manual go to auto, this should help. If there is lots of junk around all you can do is get a smaller coil. Even in a null condition the Explorer will sound on a good target although the crosshairs will not move.

The Explorer sometimes gets squirrely over iron, and it takes some time to distinguish the differences betweeen iron falses and good targets. If the targets you're talking about are coins, if you're not getting a "warbley" sound and it moves around then it's probably iron and probably not a good target. Going to auto or lowering the sensitivity reduces the amount of falses.

When movement of the stops and the cross hairs still move reduce the sesitvity and use the noise cancel button. that works for me.
