Those were probably some prototypes. If Garrett added a volume control, they just made a lot of people very happy!

Did Garrett release the debut video so they could get feedback on the machine and make necessary adjustments before they rolled them out ? And if they had a feeling customers wanted volume control and had a prototype ready to go , imo it was a brilliant strategy. Whether you get your detector next week or two weeks from now it would be better than getting it and having to return it for upgrades . Maybe just maybe they had a few prototypes they were letting those in the videos try out. Remember we didn't see everyone's detector.
