Looks like the new Whites MX5............................

................will be a game changer !!!! Priced at about $499.00...............with a plethora of features, that even include wet sand operation and an auto-trac system derived from the MXT. New competition for the mid priced detectors around it's price range. It will force manufacturers to come up with updated offerings. For example.Tesoro Deleon at the same price....................????Found it on the Kellyco website very interesting!!!

I have not had a White's unit in years. But they mention that it can hunt wet salty sand because of the auto trac feature like the MXT. Reading the forums I have read many times where the MXT is poor in wet salty conditions. So it would seem that there is a contradiction somewhere.

Hunting in wet salty sand would be quite a claim for ANY single frequency machine.

Looks like a worked over Prizm 6T to me.

If the MX5 works anything like the M6 does, except better balanced with more features, it might be worth considering.

It looks like K -Co did it again. They negotiated another sweetheart deal with Whites to exclusively sell "special" machines out of territory. They did it before with the Classic 5ID. All they did to that one was chance the frequency and called it new and exclusive to K-Co. Whites dealers know what I mean. Small Whites dealers can not sell out of their territory, advertise and sell on line. Soon Whites small dealers will throw their hands up and simply let K-Co sell where ever they want. Well that's already happening any way. It's not K-Co's fault it's Whites. With that said it does look like some good features were added. The use of Eclipse coils is great. The only problem is that small dealers need this kind of ammunition to battle K-Co not the other way around.......

My Whites dealer has it so its not exclusive to Kellyco

Yes. I was wrong as a lot of dealers just got sales packets today. But most dealers were the last to know.

I looked at it and am in love. Never owned a Whites before. Somebody buy one and do an air test and depth test!!!

And a beach test.

Single 14 kHz frequency in wet salt sand?

Gotta see that one to believe it.
