Looks like I'm gonna have to move my F75 to backup.

As soon as my new F75 arrives. :bouncy: That's right. My primary machine and my backup will now be the same. Fortunately I have my F75 while I wait on the new ones to be released. I've been hunting since '91 and have owned every major brand of detector and every supposedly good relic machine out there. This one is my favorite by far. My previous experiences with three Fisher machines were brief and not satisfactory. This new breed is a completely different story.

Four things about this detector have either surprised or thrilled me. First, the ergonomics are superb. The user interface is intuitive with but two buttons to worry about. You can hunt with it all day without the least bit of arm or shoulder fatigue. Second, depth is as good or better than any machine I have used. I dug one minie ball at a measured 14 inches. Third, battery life is ridiculous. I have over 60 hours on my first set and they are still going strong. Fourth, the recovery speed is awesome. My hunting buddy and I hunted a very pounded Union camp this past Saturday. I went straight to the trashiest area with the stock coil. I have the small coil also, but I never used it that day. I dug over 50 bullets and several buttons. He dug less than 10. On the way home, he asked me what I thought he could get if he put his machine up for sale. The difference was recovery speed. This is an amazing machine. Go :fisher:

Congrats Chuck! You discovered what I did, in about the same short-length of time that I did, how good this machine really is. It surprises me every time I take it out.

is you can tell if your machine is acting up or not. When I got my first SE, every now and then I would have it act up and thought maybe I needed to have it repaired. Well, after I got my second SE, when the same thing happened, I would just grab the other machine, only to find out the acting up was happening on both machines. So really, there was nothing wrong with the machine, the situation was just a difficult hunting scenario and I had to adjust my settings accordingly. This taught me how to hunt in situations that I otherwise would have just avoided. So you, having two machines are in an excellent position to teach the rest of us a great deal; if you'd care to.
