Looking to learn in Florida

Daisy

New member
Hi,

I live in Central Florida near The Villages and would like to go out with an experienced detector club or individual in order to gain some insight on detecting as a hobby and what is the best equipment to buy. Thanks for any help or information you can provide.

All the best,

Daisy

The Villages has a metal detecting club, they are meeting next Monday evening 6:30pm at Cain Garden rec center. tvthc.com good luck

I'd bet you do.... If you ever get over to Panama City Beach I'd be happy to help you out. Daisy, I tried to contact you via messaging but you aren't approved to use it for some reason...

Lived in Orlando 2 years ago. Would always detect Cocoa Beach and jetty park. Here are a few tips that I have learned from this site.

Go early in the morning or late Evening
After a good storm is always good.
After spring break is great!
look for the low areas in the sand where the water comes the furthest onto the beach.
Low tide is good.
If you have a detector like the AT Pro go up to waist deep and detect. (be careful what beach you do this on. Some beaches have laws on detecting in the water)
and remember if you find trash (and you will) keep it and dispose of it properly.
