Hi I am looking to buy nice water detector .And would like some input from the experts on this website Thank You michiganjim

Assuming you will be doing your water hunting in fresh water, (Michigan) There are several VLF machine that have great track records. I swing a Beach Hunter, and have had a lot of success with it. I also tested a Tesoro
"Tiger Shark" and really liked it. The White's machine has a 2 year gaurantee, and the Tesoro much longer but with a few tiny strings attached. Both companies will bend over backward in customer satisfaction. Each will serve you better in AM mode. (more depth) The BH will give a target visual in all metal by way of lights, the tesoro has no feature like that. You would have to switch back to disc. At times when an object is detected in am, you may not pick it up in disc, lending credence to the "digitallifyouwannafindgoodthings" attitude. Tesoro under 600, and BH closer to 700 with extras. Water detecting is not cheap, but pays off with quality gear. Someone else can help you on the other brands. Stay away from pulse in fresh water environs. Digging bobbie pins at three feet that have been ther since the 50s is no fun. They are better suited to salt water where non noble metals erode away after a shorter period of time. I hope this helped you Gil:detecting: PS forgot to mention, the above posted Fisher is a step or two above in features.
