LOOKING TO BUY A FISHER

tucker

New member
I'm a 75 year old fella living in Dunnville Ontario Canada. I previously had several Fishers (the last one was a 1260). I've been out of the hobby for several years but the wife and I thought, "what the H---, lets try it again" Open for suggestions.

single tone non-ID? The 1236X-2 is a great all around performer that should be close to the 1260 performance wise but a lot lighter and easier to handle. The newer features it sports really do work well. The audio is pleasing and easy to understand. Good stuff sounds good and bad stuff sounds bad. 7-8" on copper pennys/dimes with disc at nickel accept levels around here. Audio is modulated very well on the deeper stuff with the option of using the boost feature built into the volume control as well.

The ID-Excel is a very versatile detector. Coins, relics, new sites or old it is just plain fun and enjoyable to use! Its at it best at a comfortable moderate sweep speed. Fisher did a nice job on that! The audio is strong on the deeper stuff without being overboosted like some of the newer machines from others.

Hope this helps.
HH Tom

Hey TOM, thanks for the response, like I said, it's been 20 years since we've had a machine and I'm really out of date. I'm gonna find a dealer and check 'em out.
