Looking for VA and OBX information

I am currently living in Chesapeake Va and have been looking for information on MDing that city parks up here. I am also planning to head to OBX in the next couple of weeks and MD the beaches around Duck and Corolla, has anyone been down there and MD'd. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Beach Detecting Allowed: Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Southern Shores, Duck and Corolla North to VA. Stateline

Detecting Not Allowed: North of Oregon Inlet to Nags Head line, Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island


From this it looks as though you will be in the legal areas, may be worth a call to city or county.

UPDATE: As of 01 Jan 10, MD'ing is no longer allowed on City of Chesapeake parks. This was passed to me from the Temp Director of Parks and an angry Chesapeake Park worker. If anyone knows where I can find the ordinance that states that, please let me know.

Also, spoke with several officials in VA Beach and they allow MD'ing in their city parks and all public beaches. Just FYI.
