I know someone else already asked about this
Im cleaning coins and I have a bunch of those
yucko ugly pennies that have pits
etc etc

has anyone evewr melted them down and made something?

If so how did ya do it ?

:usaflag:From the info I received, you would need an extremely hot fire to melt pennies. And I don't know anyone with a smelter in their garage. So the pitted rejects go in an old coffee can for now.
 
If they're pitted bad then they are made of zinc with a thin electro plating of copper. I think Zinc has a pretty low melting point. This metal easily pours into molds and sheets. http://www.rotometals.com/product-p/zincingots.htm?gclid=CKmWx_iRiKUCFdwc5wodG2m3yA
