LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT?

Woodchuck

New member
OK I have used Whites XLT,Prizm V,IDX w/mods,QXT,Troy Shadow X3,Fisher 1236x2,Tesoro Deleon*,Fisher F2&5,Minelab 305*,Fisher GBSE and GB Pro,and have a AT Pro coming. I'm looking for something different detector wise to perk my interest any suggestions ? The only consideration is I have some nasty VA soil to contend with, got to have manual GB.also Thanks

Tesoro Deleon*
Minelab 305 *
* Both failed work well due to soil mineral content and hotrocks

Xp Deus would be something quite different and it will handle any nasty soil..:detecting:

You have a lot of detectors now and they all do one thing find metal.
There is nothing as perfect detector try the ones you have

Pro layabouts.
No matter how much Pro they have in common or other words used for enhancement, they're all blind and need a guiding hand.
It's the guide that makes it happen.

Had the same problem in Georgia.
For me the Minelab Sov XS-GT was the smoothest and deepest with the old Excalibur horse shoe searchcoil (just makes for a heavy unit) or the Musketeer Advantage did well.

Hi Woodchuck.

All those detectors in your list are the same.

To try something really different from what you have tried in the past, I would recommend either a Explorer II / Explorer SE, or a Whites TDI.

Both will handle your ground conditions and both are totally different than what you have swung in the past, and from each other.

Fisher cz 5.....

Just to add something to the mix of suggestions I will say that I have read that the Wilson Coin Select has smoked some of the heavy hitters when it came to hunting in really bad dirt and on the wet and dry salt beaches. Since you are looking for suggestions to study up on it may be an interesting snoop to look into. I have one but have used it little and my dirt is mild , so can be of no help even had I used it more. It is so very quiet that it takes a bit of getting use to.It is not a run of the mill known by all hands, but some of those that use it say it is much more machine than anyone suspects, and full of surprizes for many of those that do use them. HH,Charlie

I think I found one COINTRAX II its different!

What about looking at one of those European detectors?

The Nautilus machines work great in good to mildly mineralized ground. If you take it to some bad Va. dirt like Culpeper or Orange, you better bring a second machine. The Nautilus will be back in your truck in a very short time. You'll NEVER see one at a DIV event.
