Looking for someone to sell me on why the AT Pro is the best....

I am going to be purchasing a used water machine by the middle of next month and I was pretty sure which brand I was going with before I read a bunch of articles and forum posts on the AT Pro. The only reason I'm considering it now is because of the versatility. Can anyone out there tell me the depth they are getting in the Carolina's when they use it on land? (Gotta love this clay :) This will be the deal breaker or maker for me. I will be doing freshwater 100% and wouldn't mind the land capability too.

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on the matter. Thanks!

I hunt freshwater rivers and creeks with good success and with no problems here in Australia. Our land here is very mineralized and will give any detector a good workout and on land the ATP works very well too. Every now and then I hunt with friends who have $1000 plus machines and have surprised them with depth capability, ID quality and stability. You really can't go wrong with the ATP. I can be a bit heavy handed with my detectors too but the ATP is pretty tough and my machine has copped a beating and have had no worries. I love this machine underwater, the iron audio feature is a blessing that's for sure!. I like pushing things to the limit and have had the ATP pretty deep on a few occasions with no problems. If you can get the 5"x8" DD coil thrown in then it will make not only river hunting more accessible but also land hunting in trashy areas easier and more profitable.
Cheers!

Compare the price to others, it's water proof for water hunting and the finds posted speak for themselves on how good it really is. Click on the links below:

ive got a 1400 dollar detector it sits home more then my at pro gotta love the pro a very fun detector to use and to me a hobby is all about fun

The AT Pro is a very capable detector, as good as any that I own, but like all detectors you have to learn it and listen to what is tell you.

My buddy's and I have hunted the same tot lots for many years with many good detectors. The AT Pro proved its worth to me by consistently pulling coins out of these tot lots below the chips and in the dirt below that had been missed by all the rest. Testing showed me it was the most sensitive to small gold of any detector I've ever owned to date. I have no doubt about the AT Pros ability. Is there better? Yes. Is there better in this price range? Not in my opinion.

Nice post John! Exactly!

The AT Pro is getting hard to find these days. There is a big reason why...

Thanks everyone for the information concerning my question. I've turned the corner now on my decision, but would still love the feedback on how it's doing as a relic / coin machine in the clay. Depth capabilities? Keep up the passion everyone and thanks again!
