New member
Hi All,
I am coming to Williamsburg while my wife is in an Economics Seminar. Looking for someone that might be interested in a little bit of dirt fishin. Don't know much about the area and am looking forward to a little something different then the Tampa Bay Area.
I will arrive sometime on the 29th and stay till the 4th. Will be ready to go anytime starting the 1st. I will have my CTX if you are interested in seeing one. Also my Etrac!!! Heading out of the country tonight...will be back tomorrow.
Thanks and HH,
Bunker

Bunker -

I live in Williamsburg and also have a CTX and eTrac. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there is almost NO WHERE you can dirt hunt here because most of the area is designated as part of the Historic Triangle which consists of Yorktown, Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. Obviously, private property is the exception, but I have had no success going that route - and I am an active duty military officer. The only public place authorized for metal detecting is Yorktown Beach; specifically, between the fishing pier and the steel bridge that spans across the York River - connecting Yorktown to Gloucester. If you step one foot off the beach sand or outside the above mentioned lateral limits, you are on protected National Park land and federal jurisdiction/laws apply. I have been detecting the Yorktown Beach for almost two years and to be quite honest with you its not very productive. Nevertheless, PM me if you are interested in getting together. Good news - the Yorktown Pub is essentially on the beach so there is always a cold brew waiting...
