I have the EX II and use the 1600mah and 1800mah rechargeable battery packs. My question or something I noticed and wondered if anyone else had. When using the 1600mah the sounds for silver and normal targets sound different than when I use the 1800mah. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for responding

I don't have the Explorer-II, but have the Explorer XS. I have the factory 1500 mah rechargeable battery I use and I bought some 2100 mah Energizer rechargeable batteries I also use. As far as I know, there shouldn't be any difference in sound from a target between either batteries. The only difference in the batteries is that the 2100's will last longer than the 1500's and that is all I know about this. Hope you find the answers you are looking for.

Hi william king,

I use the 1600 MAh AA batteries that came with the explorer II and purchase another set of 2300 MAh AAs, I can't say I have noticed any difference at all on any of the sounds or screen responses, just one set last a couple of hours longer than the stock ones.

All the best.....Boony

Battery capacity will have no effect on detector performance in any way. Your detector regulates its input voltage so it is always the same.
