Looking for some honest opinions......

I am a newbie and have purchased two detectors. One is a Bounty Hunter Prospector DX (which I believe is the same as a Pioneer 505) and the other is the Garrett ACE 250. I am going to a metal detector class offered by a local club. I will eventually learn how to use both, but which is the better detector? I have heard great things about the ACE, but most detecting magazines or forums I go to say little to nothing about Bounty Hunters. Just looking for some honest opinions from those familiar with the detectors. THANKS!

Hay Coop,

I believe you will find tha 250 to be tha better of tha two.

But in bad ground conditions, tha BH with it's ability
to ground balance will be your best bet.

Tha 250 can do better in mild to moderate ground
conditions.

That's my opinion.

I think the Bounty Hunter is a very underrated unit. This Bounty Hunter would have an edge because of the ground balance. If you are going to take a class it would be to you advantage to know the fundamentals of 101 ground balancing.

I'd opt for the Fisher F2, discounted online for $199,
lower than the Ace 250 and made by First Texas,
the Bounty Hunter company. Plus you can get
extra coils of 4" & 10". The F2 compares well
with the Ace.

Then why do so many F2 users jump ship.

I've heard a lot of complaints ever sense I been

here.

Much more complaints than other makes.

F5 also.

But tha F70 and F75 have lots lawual users.

I've heard so many complaints, I could not

recomend tha F2 or F5.

Now, I know tha 250 will perform.

I don't want anyone blaiming me for their

buyers remourse.

Happy Huntin,

They are both good detetors. One or the other may have a few more bells and whistles but in the end they are both pretty good at what they do.
