Looking For Some Advice On Metal DEtectors

TRIPLE-SSS

Well-known member
Currently, I own a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw 11, and I'm looking to upgrade to a better one. My friend recommends a Titan 3000 X D pro. Does anyone out their know anything about the Titan. I would appreciate any info.
I only really hit the beach. My bounty hunter only really hits on coins at about 4 inches and goes nuts on wet beach sand.I would like to hit the wet sand at low tide and get a little more depth. Lookig to spend around $400.00 or so. Don't really want one that goes under water. Really enjoy all the functions the Bounty Hunter has, but would like those other options.
If you could recommend one that you thing would fit my needs, please let me know.

Thanks,
Stan.

If you do not need a submersible, then see if you can find a used Minelab Sov, maybe available in your price range, if you hunt for one. Might be a good idea to send it off to Vegas 1st though and make sure it is running correctly and all is well though. There are very few, that can hunt wetsand, with stability and still have some discrimination, without spending over your budget. Water and wetsand hunting ain't cheap, but if you REALLY step it up and spend TOP $ initially, then you will reap the benefits later on. If you go the cheap route, then you will save lots of money, but waste your time with a piece of equipment that will not find too much for you. You choose.

I would agree with Gulf Hunter. You should be able to find a used Minelab Sov (any version) but the newer the better in the $300-$400 range. If you are willing to spend a bit more then the newest version the Sov GT would be the way to go. The Multifrequency Minelab Sov's can easily handle the wet or dry sand and are excellent at rejecting rusty iron which is one of the beach hunters biggest problems in most areas. Also the Sov has excellent depth and is excellent for detecting gold on the beach. Keep an eye on the classifieds or if in more of a hurry post you own ad in the classified and let people know you are looking for a Sov and I am sure someone will get back to you. There are plenty of Sov's out there as they are a workhorse of the hobby! JMHO

I am trying to direct you to a piece of equipment, that will allow you discriminate iron, but still have the stability necessary to operate effectively in a wet salt environment. Quite frankly, there are very few that can pull it off, especially in the price range you mentioned. Your chances of success go up dramatically, if you shell out the $, for the correct piece of equipment initially. In the event you buy right and this isn't the sport for you, normally it can be resold, without too much loss.

the Sovereign and Excal will perform better than any other VLF out there on salt beach's.they have the ability to punch through the salt sand where most others dont.I'm not a techie and dont know why they work as well as they do,i just know from trial and error they are hard to beat on the beach! the Fisher CZ20/21 is also pretty good just not as deep as the Minelab's.i use the Sovereign GT and S12 coil most of the time and haven't found anything yet to keep up with it for depth.the WOT coil is also good but a lot heavier.
