Hi All:
I am looking for opinions, and why you have the opinion you have..

Which detector is better DFX, or XLT..I know which one costs more, but I have heard from several sources the XLT is much better than the DFX
for general coin shooting.
Whats your take, and why, "please"????
Thank you,
Elton

What makes it better for the beach??? The 15 frequency???

By what I understand and the auto tune helps along with the 3-15 freq ! I've got a unit that is a White in the same 6.59 freq as the XLT and it is great in land and sometimes works ok at the beach (Salt that is) but is not 100%! Nor will be the DFX / but it should be close to that 100 % mark . According to White the XLT just is not the best unit for salt water (wet sand that is or the surf). I went thur a lot of ?'s before I found a unit that would work at the Salt water area's. Some one in this forum with far greater knowledge about the DFX and XLT may help you further. Good luck!

Thank you for the replys

If you dont plan on beach or gold hunting then the XLT is a less expensive alternative. Which is better... that depends on who is using it. The XLT will work at the beach you just have to ground balance either in wet or dry sand, it doesnt transition as well as the DFX. On the beach, i found the DFX to be a killer machine. The M6 and MXT are great coin machines as well without all the thought process and can go deeper than the DFX in non trashy areas.
