looking for opinions on TigerShark

I am a White's user and have a XLPRO. I have problems with it on wet saltwater beaches so I've been looking at the TigerShark as a good beach and water hunter. I would appreciate any user field test or opinions on how the like it or thinks it performs on saltwater beaches and just general detecting. Thank you in advance

Tiger will work great in the Dry Sand and in the Water... but poorly in the wet sand.
The Tiger is an AWESOME freshwater machine.... BUt Struggles in Saltwater.
A Minelan Excal or a Fisher CZ 20 or even a Whites Beach hunter Id would be better choices.
Happy Hunting

I found the Tigershark to be excellant in fresh water but extremely difficult to run on mineralized salt water beaches on the West coast. However, I did run it on Clearwater Beach in Florida and found it ran fairly well there so it may be ok for you. I'd suggest checking with local clubs first. You may want to consider the Detectorpro line, I've had their Diver model for a year and it runs beautifully on some of the beaches the Tigershark could not handle. That said, don't forget the warranty that Tesoro machines have..there is a lot to be said for it.
If you do go with a Tigershark balance it on dry sand, set the sens down slightly and run it in Salt Mode and Disc. Mode. Slight adjustments in sens and disc will allow you to get it running fairly well on lightly mineralized salt-water beaches. However you will get some falsing still.
Hope that helps and doesn't just confuse

It's a wonderful detector. I don't really have all the problems in saltwater here on SC beaches I hear other people complain about, except when I'm right at the water line and saltwater washes up over the coil...then a little chatter. But once IN the water...great, in wet/dry sand...great. Very good water/relic machine especially in trashy(lots of iron) areas....no "iron blindness". And I highly recommend the 10.5" coil for more surface coverage and a little more depth....Paul

It seems the more we try to find a machine that does everything we want, the more we find there is'nt a machine that will do it. Mabe thats why we all end up with several diff. machines. Well the hunt goes on---- for treasure and the ultimate "tector" H/H all.

Mine does fine in saltwater, very stable. I get the impression that some beaches are more difficult for the Tigershark, especially northeast and west coast beaches. Here in Galveston, I get a little chatter once in a while, but only in wet sand when I hit the coil in the sand itself. Once submerged, haven't had any trouble at all.
