Looking for longtime QXT user..

Dan-Pa.

New member
I have read Thomas Hills tips but would appreciate any input on the pro's and con's of this unit as I have tried a lot of units but a newbie with a QXT and perhaps it would help the learning period....E-mails welcomed Detectdan@msn.com

Nothing like first hand experience to give me a jump start...

I feel like I helped a lot of fellows with various units and would surely appreciate some input given back...

Wish I could help you some more Dan but I'm afraid Tom has forgotten more than I''ll ever know about the QXT. I've just started to use it somewhat regularly but I can tell you that I'm finding it's separation to be very impressive and that's with the stock 950 coil. That, combined with it's multi-tone, has been able to help me sniff out a couple of targets in trash I missed with my MXT and various coils including the 5.3 and 6x10. Including a clad nickel ! I'm pretty new to MD'ing so with your experience I think you should be able to get up to speed pretty quickly. I'm taking the QXT out with the MXT today to start hunting a new private home site I received permission to hunt. I'm going to take the opportunity to compare the different machines and coils side by side to in-ground targets. I'll get back to you and let you know if I learn anything about the QXT that may benefit you. Also I've been corresponding with other forum members who are also new to the QXT and comparing notes and knowledge to help each other out. Be happy to include you in the loop if you're interested. Good luck Dan and let us know how it's working out for you.

Well Tom, what's that they say about the best laid plans.... I regularly pull the batteries and holder out of my machines and the batteries out of the pack. Long story short I had no pack in the QXT when I got to the site and with limited time I could only get in one hunt with the MXT. I WILL be doing a comparison ( as best I can ) when I get the chance. Sorry guys.
