If you are hunting freshwater swim beaches, set the 250 on Jewelry mode, 50% Sens. and scoop everything that beeps or boings. Work the waters edge up to about a foot deep as that's where the mom's sit with the wee ones and their rings slip off, just be careful not to let the 250 slip and fall into the water. If there's short, stone walls, check along them. Get a scoop for recovery of targets in the water. Parks, playgrounds....anywhere can be a good spot. Actually there's not one place you can say, "Go to this spot, find jewelry". I've found rings where you wouldn't think there should be one and the best looking spots yield nothing. You've got to keep hunting, get your coil over it and dig it up and it's yours!!

Alot of lady's rings with nice stones will hit just under nickel and right on foil. You'll still dig foil and canslaw, but these trash targets will usually be shallow and easy to recover.

The 250 makes a good jewelry hunting rig as it hits small gold better than most. Try hunting around public pools in the grassy areas, use a screwdriver, the sniper coil (for most accurate PPing) and only dig targets in the first couple of inches to minimize damage to the turf. Alot of these swimming pool areas have likely never been hunted and it can take many trips to hunt them out.

Good Luck!

Since rings vary in composition and wind up all over the display, just dig everything that beeps or dings. There is no magic formula for rings.

To find a lot of jewellery, you have to look at the percentages. For approximately every 1000 coins I get on land, I get a ring. That is average. Hunting in sand, wet dry or under water gets me a higher percentage. So, pick your places wisely, and dig as many targets as you can in a given time. Sound like a lot of work? It can be, but the rewards are awesome. There is no other way. I average about 7-8 thousand coins a year, with my best year being over 11,000. And.....I have about 500 rings to date.
