You might start with this...

Actually someone built one I think and posted about it on here a couple of weeks ago Charlie. Just look back a few pages until you find it.

Did you ever get the '42 error coin back from being graded???? Haven't heard yet, or I don't remember.

It's easy... go to Doc's website, click "order" on the swingy thingy, wait a few days, and you got your swingy thingy!

Wow that does sound easy,Sorry to hear you arent mechanically inclined enough to make one , but for that tip i will send you one once i am done, just cause im a nice guy.

,,,,, I have found many more reasons to like this way then just weight reduction with this mod.
-make changes with one hand while still swinging the coil
-can block the sun with your body or adjust angle of screne while swinging coil
-keep the main unit under cover out of the rain while you still swinging the coil

Just buy Doc's.........may be couple bucks more than self made.....but worth. Unless you are a die-hard DIY'r. Sometimes I like to build than buy. Not on the Swingy though. I own Doc's. It's a well designed set-up.

Where do I get docs i looked for web page originally with no luck

Ive mentioned my type of swingy in posts way way back. I have a supper good quality small back pack I use for a lot of my hunts out in the far away places that allows me to haul things that i may need and lunch. I took an adjustable bungie. and one hook goes onto the front of the back pack ( there is a ring to hook onto) on the side I am holding the E trac with and the other end goes around the handle of the E trac. I can adjust it to be just off the ground. GOod for smooth surface hunting but not as good for the hills I hunt.

It works great and takes tons a wieght off. I use it alot as I also have a torn rotator cuff. At first I used it all the time but now things are better and I don't have to use it as much unless I'm out for more than 4 hours.

good luck.

I made one using a bungee cord, and the strap that came attached to the blue Minelab bag. Ran the strap over my shoulder. Attached the two ends and their clips to a plastic hook, and then ran a small bungee around the box housing and to the hook. Works great. Simple to make, and easy to use. Makes swinging the detector seem like it's light as a feather. Pics to come shortly. Uploading them now.

There ya go. That's as easy as it gets, and super cheap. Uploading a video of how easy it is to use. You need a strap to go around your shoulder, a bungee cord, and something to attach them in the center that you can easily detach when you find a target to dig.

If you put the strap around your waist or hook it to a belt loop you wouldn't have to un-clip the machine, because when you kneel down the machine will set on the ground next to you. IDK, just thinkin' out loud........NGE

I tried that, but I noticed that I move around when I'm digging, and I wanted to be more flexible. I also have a small nylon electricians pouch I wear on one hip, and my weapon on the other. I leave the hooks fastener in the open position when I'm walking, so it comes off really fast. I just have to secure the bungee to the control box with a little nylon rope or black electrical tape so it wont slide all the way down the shaft every time I take it off. Also. I secured my Pin Pointers holster to the main upper arm, so it sits next to my forearm. Soon as I lay it down I can grab it without reaching around for it. Again, tried to alleviate all the stuff already strapped around my waste. Phone, pouch, gun, etc.

Thanks for all the info guys. This is a great site
