looking for info about any new minelab machines

from talking with kevin at minelab all I can say somthing is in the works and almost done hence all the price changes the sov gt went back up to 999.99$ from 798.00 and the explorer is no longer the flagship detector the etrac is

I bet it will be hard to top the Etrac... Can't see it happening unless it comes with ground penetrating radar.. Lol

Gonehunting-----That's what they said before the Etrac came out----that it would be hard/impossible to "top" the SE.------Look what happened!----Of course that somewhat depends on who you are talking to also as SE owners/users can build an excellent case for that excellent machine as well.-----It all boils down to the old adage "users preference".------In any case, nobody should ever under estimate Minelab & their evolution of great detectors.-------NOW--if they ever get a "handle" on their service center & turn around times, we'll REALLY be cookin!! :)---------Del

Kevin told you thats why the prices changes on the GT and Excal, they are getting ready to release a new machine? Did he have anything to say about whether minelab was keeping the explorer line or not?

the safari and explorer sales are not good he compared the safari to the Garrett ace 250 in that it is the new hot thing selling but the performance was not their and the explorer he would not tell me much all I know somethig is going to happen I dont know

There's a lot of competition out there, so they will have to come out with something monumental to "stay in the swing of things" :poke:

I like hype and minelab does it good LOL its why I bought the etrac when it first came out:yikes:

If it is a "waterproof" machine just hope they don't have a "special" earphone jack like the competition put on their new waterproof machine. Lol sorry Joemoto...

There are lots of possibilities out there for upgrading their current inventory.

E-trac has been out for a couple years already. Perhaps a new version of that.

Just think excalatrac!!!

No! No! No!

I can't afford to buy a new detector, and I would feel VERY strongly towards buying a WP version of the Trac.

Does it get any better than the E-Trac.

Well at least they won't be painting them black or doing them in camo or just changing the name and color calling them something else with an acronym afterwards, you can bet on that. I often wonder how some companies can do that. I wouldn't be surprised if a few come out with curb feelers and call their machine something else, new and improved.

I have to wonder what percentage of their gross sales the hobby market is? They also have their serious gold machines, commercial and government sales as well, I suppose. We have a tendency to only picture our slice of their manufacturing pie. That could heavily influence their decision on where the R&D money goes.

This rumour is doing the rounds, make your own mind up.

-no wires
-one battery in the coil who is made of Lythiumpropan, one off the lightest material on earth.
-Weight: 540 gr.
-headphone wireless
-working with Sun-energy boost, this meen you can search for about 24 hours with just one battery
- you can clip it together (see picture)
- the circle in front of the coil is for pinpointing.

That looks like a cool design wise, but the screen looks small and the balance would be off if the handle is that far forward. I have a hunch we will see something new come out this spring/summer. Btw were did you find this pic of the new unit?
