IM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO MEET AND HUNT TOGETHER I HAVE OLD 16 17 AND 1800 SITES PLUS A NEW ONE YET TO BE SEARCHED WHERE GW WAS ONCE AT OLDEST HOME IN ALLOWAY LET ME KNOW PLEASE ITS BORING ALONE I HAVE 2 WHITES AND A SAFARI I AM 31 AND LOVE THIS HOBBY THANKS PS FIRST SITE AND HIT WAS A 1824 LARGE CENT 2 INCHES DOWN
 
Hey croakersmoker78- It sounds like some really promising sites that you have lined up and it's nice that you're willing to share potential sites with others. Do you have permission obtained where needed and any sharing of any finds worked out with owners who request it ?
I'm up in the Asbury Park area, but would definitely consider driving down to your location. HH
 
WELL I CAN GO ANYTIME I ONLY FOUND THE LARGE CENT AT THE ONE SITE THAT WAS ALL BUT THERE IS SURE TO BE MORE.THE OTHER IS A PLOWED FIELD WHERE A 1600S HOUSE WAS THERE IS PIECES OF POTTERY AND OLD GLASS ALL OVER AND I FOUND 5 OLD BUTTONS.ALSO THERE IS A PARK THAT I FOUND A 1884 IH AND A MERC BUT AND LOTS OF WHEAT'S YOU CAN COME IF YOU WANT BUT IT IS A LONG RIDE AND I CANT GUARANTEE YOU WILL FIND THINGS
 
Hi croakersmoker78. I feel the same way and would like to find a no nonsense diehard hunting partner. I have done much relic hunting in the 80's in Connecticut and civil war Virginia but since moving to Toms River now do beaches. Would like to hook up. Where are you in south jersey? Tools = (Tesoro Vaq, Sand Shark, Sovereign, older fantastic Teknetics)

Yeah,sounds good. No, he hasn't gotten back to me. Though the beach is very close, I've hunted there a few times without great success. Mostly in c/j mode finding clad. Among the clad last week, I did find a half a dozen bullets (all tid as 35) that must've been mixed in with sand brought in for beach replenishment along with a '25,'35 wheaties (tid 37) & a '46 nickel (tid 14). Don't like the fact that when I move away from the tide (with only coil slightly submerged) the detector threshold runs quieter & I need to remove the coil cover & quick dry it before hunting again further up the beach (with noise cancel, of course). Sorry, no pictures yet..can't find the macro setting on this canon power shot a-550 to get under 420 kb size....... HH

maybe I can hook up with you sometime to hunt and shoot the breeze. I can do early Saturdays. Do you have a preference?

Arod777. Yeah, I get this error msg when sending you a private message:
"One or more recipients not approved to use the private message system" .. I don't know to resolve it, but suggest hit the contact us letter icon above and open a trouble ticket with them..... HH

Got out last night for little while. All clad. 3 qtrs, 8 dimes, 9 pennies, 1 crushed thimble..it may be silver, it's soaking in soapy water..& a token that reads the same on both obverse & reverse "mansion house, pay cashier, with number 95 in the middle ". I thought it was big silver, but wasn't. How 'bout yourself ?
 
havent got out this week maybe tomorrow
last week 2 rings = 1 steel wed band 1 peace, clads,
i fish scaling knife 8 inches long 3inches down on the waters edge in the surf. Good reason to always allow detecting on the beach to prevent idiocies like this.
 
I too am in South Jersey!! If u guys ever want to hook up and detect let me know, I'm in Southampton and detect constantly on land in winter spring and fall (can't handle the heat =( ) I just bought a Sand Shark so I'll hitting the beaches now... Let me know!!

I have the sand shark and it is great.
I am usually in tuckerton weekends and will go hunting the beach with the sand shark. I have not had much luck at the beach because the clean it often. if your in the area lets hook up so we can do something. I hit the beaches early before the lifeguards or late at 6pm.
