Looking for find photos & tips for the new Minelab CTX 3030 Handbook

After getting a stack of requests for a book on the CTX 3030 along the same lines as my past books on Minelab machines, I am moving ahead with the project . . . The Minelab CTX 3030 Handbook.

It will be a great resource for CTX users and as in past books, will cover the fundamentals as well as application-specific tips & techinques from some of the top CTX users around the world.

Photos of finds are always great motivators for us to get out and try to find one ourselves and I have always tried to incorporate as many find photos from users as possible . . . . and the feedback has always been positive for doing so.

If you have a "killer find" you would like to have included in the new book, I'd love to see it. If it is included, you will receive credit for the photo and a signed copy of the book when it is released (which is looking like the June timeframe).

On the same token, if you have a setting that has proven itself that you would like to share, the same holds true . . . . . you will receive credit in it and a copy of the book when it is released.

I appreciate the input many of you have provided not only for the Minelab books I have penned over the past 20+ years but other brands and general books as well.

As a result of feedback from other titles, we are also looking at the possibility of having it available in eBook formant as well as hard copy for those of you that wanted to have a copy on an iPad or tablet in the field . . . more to come on that option soon.

To avoid filling my In Box on Findmall (which tends to happen quite often ), if you have photos, tips or other input you would like to provide for possible inclusion in the book, send it to CTX3030@SabischBooks.com

Thanks in advance and I look forward to seeing some of those great CTX 3030 finds!

Interesting Andy. I will be in contact

I wrote a post a while back titled: How to save Screenshots to your compatible Smartphone. You should be able to do a search on this forum and find it. You may find it useful; it works great. I'm so glad you are doing another book.

Andy I would be glad to help out.

Thanks Andy for the new book coming out, the E-Trac book was a great help to me and I am sure the new CTX will fill that need too!

I will be sending some finds and their stories!

Please make sure you include a good section covering the basics for all of us new to minelabs. You could call it minelab for dummies.

Thanks in advance for your efforts.

That is my intent . . . . not a rehash of the manual (which has some errors in it that can lead people astray) but what you need to have a solid foundation of the functions and controls . . . that foundation is used to build the later chapters which will get you dialed in for the specific type of hunting you plan on doing. The format will follow my past books on specific detectors which has been well received and has information for those still looking at buying a CTX 3030 to those that have been swinging one since the came out on 2012.

Thanks again for the support

Andy

The Etrac book was great, and a huge help. The one criticism I have is that the Etrac information was interwoven with information about the Explorer. That was confusing at times. When I bought my CTX I asked Bart if you had a book on the CTX and was told no. I asked if there was another resource and was sent to this site and a couple others. I've found some great information and pointers but it doesn't compare to having a copy of your book on the shelf. Having it for reference really helps, especially when confronted with situations where you may not ever have the opportunity to hunt a certain property again. Good luck and keep up informed as to when it is out.

I have had the CTX since it came out and I have a few really nice finds from Kansas and Colorado will send you some pictures has soon as I can

Andy, glad to hear of your new project.... What's been the holdup! Just kidding, but appreciate your work! I have been waiting for this. Hail the king!!!!

Hi Andy,

Good luck on the book. I will purchases one as soon as it is out. When I was first considering if I should purchase the CTX or go with a water machine you helped me decide. You are the only author that I know of that would give someone their personal phone number to call if they ran into any problems. You are the real deal Andy, thank you for your help.

Jim

Count me in , I have several of Andy's books and use them as a constant resource. Glad to hear he is doing it.!! I am currently using a Deuss along with my CTX and I can tell you its a huge learning curve I refer to his book on that machine on a daily basis.

Count me in too!
As much as I love using computers and iPads to do research, at the end of the day, I much prefer a book. One that I can use in the field, car, living room or wherever.
An accompanying reference guide (insert) one that you could carry while detecting on site, would be awesome!
